I’m not going to lie [and neither are my victims guests] we had a great time in the studio today before / during / and after the show!

Laren Campbell explains what she does as a Financial Education Specialist.

Statistics as well as my guests’ experiences prove that networking is the key to getting the job.

How to land an informational interview:

The interaction was priceless!
Priceless interaction during a roundtable discussion that happens to include microphones.

A key element of Dream Job Radio is that participants will leave with what I call their Bring It! statements. Watch as Rachel, Tripp, and Laren work through theirs.

OUT-TAKES: Exclusive footage after the show!

Today after a fabulous lunch with friends, colleagues, and co-conspirators Miriam Salpeter, Stone Payton, Lee Kantor, and Todd Schnick at Fuego Mundo, Todd and I filmed the second installment in our groundbreaking ongoing series of video interviews where we discuss and/or debate the hot topics of the day, He Said, She Said.

Since Todd will be appearing on my blog regularly as a part of this series I should probably tell you a little bit about him.

Todd is a blogger, a professional marketer, active in the community, and a political consultant. He has started four companies and is actively launching two new joint ventures at this very moment.

An active participant in both the political and marketing arenas since 1992, Todd has been at the forefront of several key historical events in recent memory. In 2002, he served as the Executive Director of the Georgia Republican Party, and during his tenure, elected the first Republican governor since Reconstruction, elected Saxby Chambliss to the United States Senate (defeating Max Cleland), and helped achieve GOP control of the Georgia Senate for the first time ever.

Before founding the marketing and political consulting firm Intrepid in 2007, Todd was a founding partner in the Atlanta office of the Southern Strategy Group, a governmental affairs firm that opened in 2003. He then joined The Strategum Group, a political consulting, marketing, and direct mail firm as a partner in 2004.

There is much more to Todd’s impressive political career but you’ll have to jump over to his website to read more.

Todd and I have two key things in common. We both graduated from Florida State University and we both highly respect Hugh MacLeod and love his cartoons.

Today was my turn to ask the question and I asked, “What is your greatest challenge as an entrepreneur?”

You can see Todd’s response as well as my own in the “dueling” videos below. You can find Todd’s take on this installment of He Said, She Said here.

And now, without further ado…He Said, She Said -- Volume 2:

Please share your thoughts in the comments section and/or on Twitter using the #HSSS hashtag.

P.S. please donate money to the Todd Needs a Tripod Fund. Thanks.

In April, 2009, I made my radio “debut” as a guest on Gravity Free Radio along with hosts Erik Wolf and Stephanie Frost. Joining me in the studio as a guest was Sean Nelson, author, LinkedIn 101 (no longer available), The LinkedIn MBA, and LinkedIn Marketing Secret Formula.

On that day we had a roundtable discussion on Social Media + The Workplace.

Recently Sean had the opportunity to be a guest on Thrive America and share his 5 Steps to Effectively Use LinkedIn with host Brent Brooks. Sean shared some excellent tips and whether you are or are not (yet) on LinkedIn it’s worth your time to watch, listen, and take notes!

Stephanie Perrett and Stephanie Lloyd just after the show

Stephanie Perrett is one of three interns I have recently asked to join the Radio Veracity team as a partnership in which I will help them with their job searches and expanding their networks, and in turn they will help me with various aspects of my business; from marketing to communications to PR to branding to…well, once you get to know these three you’ll see just how strong their capabilities are!

This morning was Stephanie’s first radio experience and after the show I conducted a brief interview with her and asked about her studio experience as well as her internships(s) and her job search as a recent graduate of the University of Georgia.

If interested you can click here to listen to the  show (approximately 20 minutes) during which we talked about both recruiting and job searching in today’s highly competitive job market.

And, stay tuned to learn more about Stephanie Perrett as well as Radiant Veracity interns Beth Farrar and Paul Eulette!

July 25, 2009

This was her first in a series of interviews she will be conducting and recording for her website, Come Recommended. I first wrote about the site for my Examiner column when Heather launched it in May.
