On Thursday, October 8, 2009 I will host Atlanta’s first ever Red Shoe Project Tweetup along with my good friend Michael Long aka The Red Recruiter at Fuego Mundo in Atlanta, Georgia, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Please join us!

Click here to register and for more detailed information.

In addition to benefiting the Red Shoe Project, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm at Fuego Mundo you can do your part toward stopping Domestic Violence! 20% of all of the evening’s proceeds go to the YWCA of Northwest Georgia in their outreach efforts to help end domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Take a moment to see just what the Red Shoe Project is all about!

The Red Shoe Project

The Red Shoe Project aims to prove that helping non-profits can be both fun and beneficial to all concerned. With a deserving cause and some creativity, spreading awareness is much more achievable than in the past. RSP also recognizes that everyone has a different level of contribution that they are either willing or capable of making… and that’s okay! You can get involved by simply submitting a picture!

So, how will this work? Simple.

The Red Shoe Project has identified a very worthy cause in San Francisco called My New Red Shoes. This wonderful organization contributes to society by clothing underprivileged children for their first day of school. They give children a sense of pride… and we all know how important that is.

For a period of one year from April 2009, the Red Shoe Project, will focus on raising awareness for My New Red Shoes. The goal is to significantly increase the amount of exposure that this deserving organization receives.

After each year, Red Shoe Project will select a different deserving organization to get involved with. Imagine that we are a sort of hit-squad… but, in a good way. We drop in, spread awareness like crazy for one year and then we move on to the next worthy cause. Hopefully, we can leave behind a lasting impression on each organization that we help.

What we want is fun, easy and very achievable. We want you to take the most creative picture you can in a pair of red shoes!

This event is going to be great. I love how it’s being used to bring awareness to a non-profit.

I’ve been promoting it to my network and have also encouraged anyone who does NOT have red shoes minimally to attend in a red shirt. :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight!
